In this workshop I will demonstrate and share my process for creating an abstract painting. I do not begin with a pre-determined theme. It limits the extent of my exploration with the medium and frustrates my creative relationship with the work. In this workshop you will experience how a painting can take you on a journey of discovery. For more information on my background and how I work go to: https://www.paulettemelansonartist.com/.

Born in 1953 in the Acadian village of Scoudouc, New Brunswick, Paulette Melanson moved to Nova Scotia in 1985 for work, but also to research their ancestors and pursue art studies. They now work from their studio in Lunenburg. With a keen interest in biology and nature, combined with their Acadian background, these elements largely influence everything they produce.
