Learn how to screen print from start to finish in this introductory, two-day workshop for beginners. You will learn how to coat a screen with emulsion, expose it, and prepare it for printing. We will cover a variety of ways to make your image positives, including hand-drawn designs. Finally, you will learn how to mix ink, register your paper, and pull the squeegee to print your own clean edition. All specialized materials are included, but please bring a sketchbook and pencils to work on your ideas. Screen printing ink is permanent, so be sure to wear clothes for messy work and closed-toe shoes. This workshop is limited to 6 participants. Thanks to funding from the Age-Friendly Community Grants of Nova Scotia, this workshop is free for participants aged 55 and over.
